Valon Behrami

Valon Behrami is a Swiss international who currently plays club football for Genoa. Born on 19th April 1985, in Kosovo, the all-action central midfielder began his career in Switzerland, most notably with FC Lugano, before three years at Lazio, where he featured in a Coppa Italia semi-final and the UEFA Champions League. A £5m transfer took the Swiss to the Premier League for the first time, with West Ham United, in July 2008 but he returned to Serie A, firstly with Fiorentina in January 2011 and then Napoli July 2012 – winning the 2013/14 Coppa Italia. One season in the Bundesliga for Hamburger SV preceded a £3m move to Watford in July 2015. Behrami has more than 70 international caps and has represented Switzerland at three FIFA World Cup tournaments and UEFA Euro 2008 and 2016.
