Thibaut Courtois is a Belgian goalkeeper who plays for Real Madrid. Courtois was born on 11th May 1992 and started his club career with Genk and made his professional debut for the club before he had even turned 17. In 2010-11, Courtois won Genk’s Player of the Year award as the club won the Belgian league title. Later that summer, Courtois signed for Chelsea. Having just arrived at Chelsea, Courtois was loaned to Atletico Madrid as a replacement for David de Gea, and his loan was extended in two consecutive summers as he remained at the club for three seasons. The Belgian was crucial for Atléti as they won La Liga in 2013-14 and was a runner-up in the Champions League. In June 2014, Courtois was confirmed as Chelsea’s first choice goalkeeper and won the Premier League title in May the next season.
