Simon Cox is a Republic of Ireland international forward who plays for . Born on 28th April 1987, in Berkshire, Cox first joined local side Reading at youth level before returning to the club in 2014 for a second spell. In all, the skilful attacking midfielder/second striker had made more than 300 career appearances and was closing in on a 100-goal milestone as of the start of the 2016/17 season, where he was signed to Southend United. Cox has represented eight different clubs at senior level across the top three divisions of English football, including being part of the West Bromwich Albion side that gained promotion to the Premier League in 2009/10. At international level, Cox scored on his international debut in May 2011 and was a member of the Republic of Ireland squad at UEFA Euro 2012.
