The forward looked set to join Ajax in the summer of 2017 but was instead persuaded to sign for Watford by their then-head coach Marco Silva. After shining for the Hornets, scoring five times in 41 outings, he followed the Portuguese tactician to Everton for a reported £50million in the summer of 2018.
