Lovre Kalinic

Lovre Kalinić is a Croatian goalkeeper who plays for K.A.A. Gent in the Jupiler Pro League.
Born in Split, Kalinić was signed to his hometown side, Hajduk Split, in 2000 and spent nine years in the club's academy. Before making a first-team appearance he had short loan spells at Junak Sinj and Novalja.
Kalinić made his Hajduk debut as a 21-year-old in 2011 before another another loan move away, this time to Karlovac, occurred in 2012.
However, he was brought back to the club by Igor Tudor and was made first-choice stopper ahead of the 2013/14 campaign. He quickly impressed and was capped for the first time by Croatia in 2014.
During the 2015/16 season, Kalinić set a record of 775 minutes without conceding a goal in the Croatian first division. His form over the next 18 months alerted several European clubs and he joined Gent in January for €3.1m, a club record fee.
Kalinić instantly settled and produced countless impressive displays. At the end of the 2016/17 campaign, despite only arriving in January, the 27-year-old was named the best goalkeeper in the Belgium league.
