Kelechi Iheanacho is a Nigerian striker, born on October 3, 1996, who plays for Leicester City. Iheanacho began his career in Nigeria, before leaving his home country to join Manchester City in 2014. He became a member of the Manchester City academy and spent some time training with Columbus Crew whilst waiting for his work permit. The Nigerian’s first-team breakthrough arrived in 2015/16 when he netted eight Premier League goals.
However, with Sergio Agüero among those ahead of him, regular first-team minutes were always going to be hard to come by and Iheanacho left the Etihad Stadium to join Leicester City for £25million in the summer of 2017. Having represented his country from the under-13 level upwards, Iheanacho made his senior debut for Nigeria in 2015.
