James Milner is an English midfielder, born on 4th January 1986, who plays for Liverpool. Brought up in Yorkshire, Milner was a member of the Leeds United academy and made his debut for the club in 2002, going on to become the youngest ever Premier League goal scorer when he netted on Boxing Day of that year. Financial difficulties at Leeds eventually forced Milner to move on, with the midfielder joining Newcastle United in the summer of 2004. Including a season on loan at Aston Villa, Milner remained at Newcastle for four seasons before completing a permanent transfer to the Villains in 2008. After two seasons in the Midlands, the midfielder joined Manchester City for around £25 million and won two Premier League titles with the club. In 2015, Milner joined Liverpool on a free transfer. Having won 61 caps for his country, Milner announced his retirement from the England team in the summer of 2016.
