Harry Edward Kane MBE is an English professional footballer. He was born on July 28th, 1993 in Walthamstow near London and he is currently playing as a striker for Tottenham Hotspur. Kane started his football career at the age of 6 when he joined local club Ridgeway Rovers, although he was always a Spur fan since he lived close to the club’s stadium at the time.
During his youth career, Harry Kane also played for Arsenal for one season but he was released for being “chubby” and “unathletic”. He also had a trial at Tottenham that wasn’t successful so he moved back to Ridgeway Rovers. He then joined Watford when he was 11 years old but quickly moved to his dream club Tottenham after he played well against their youth team.
Kane has been at the club since 2004, first in the team youth ranks and then in the first team since 2009. However, he did spend some time on loans at different clubs, including Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City. His first full season with Tottenham came was the 2013/2014 season but he only played sporadically.
He truly proved himself during the 2014/2015 season and he was an irreplaceable member of the first team ever since. During his time with the club, Tottenham was truly established as the permanent member of the Premier League elite. Although Kane never won anything with the club, Spurs finished third in the league a few times and managed to reach Champions League final in 2019 where they lost to Liverpool.
Kane is widely considered as one of the best strikers in the world today, for a good reason. Despite being only 27, he already managed to crack the top 10 of Premier League goalscorers and will certainly manage to rise even higher on the list. He won the Premier League Golden Boot two times in his career, in 2016 and 2017.
The striker made his debut for the national team in 2015 and has so far scored 32 goals in 51 matches for England. He was a part of England team at the EURO 2016 but he failed to score during the tournament. Kane was much better at the 2018 World Cup in Russia – he helped England reach the semi-finals for the first time since 1990 and was the best goalscorer of the tournament with 6 goals.
Harry Kane Transfers and Rumours
Kane is a rare example of a top-class player who never changed clubs in his career. However, Kane is still in his prime and transfer rumours and gossip surrounding his potential transfer are never-ending. During the years, football whispers of Kane being one of the main transfer targets of many big European clubs persisted and continue to exist.
It is well-known that Manchester United was very interested in bringing him to Old Trafford but the move never materialized. Kane was also connected with a potential move to Real Madrid but he never made transfer news with that one either.
The latest rumour is that Manchester City is interested in his services, especially since Aguero is getting closer to the end of his career. Whether the Citizens can beat transfer odds and finally get Kane to move away from Spurs remains to be seen.
