Gelson Fernandes

Gelson Fernandes is a Swiss international midfielder who currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt and was born in Cape Verde on 2nd September 1986. After starting his career at FC Sion, the defensive midfielder moved to Manchester City in 2007 and would then play for Saint-Etienne, Chievo, Leicester City, Udinese and Sporting in Portugal before returning to FC Sion on loan in 2013. A permanent move to SC Freiburg came in 2013 and the next season he would sign for Rennes. He represents his country at Euro 2008, the 2010 World Cup, scoring against Spain in Durban and Euro 2016.
