Gastón Campi

Gastón Campi, born on the 6th April 1991, is an Argentine centre back who plays for Trabzonspor. Campi made his professional debut for Racing Club in 2013, and jokingly became known as ‘the Argentine Peter Crouch’ owing to his height. His 6’4” stature helped him become a regular piece of the Racing defence, but when Diego Cocca became manager he didn’t play as often during the 2014 title-winning campaign, and an injury saw him miss six months of 2015. He recovered to feature again under Facundo Sava, but was loaned with an option to buy to Reading of the English Championship in January 2016. After failing to impress the technical staff there, he returned to Argentina, where he was loaned out to Atlético de Rafaela.
