Fraser Forster is an England international goalkeeper who plays for Celtic. Born in Northumberland on March 17th 1988, Forster joined Newcastle United aged 17, although never made a first-team appearance for the Magpies. The tall, commanding keeper made his senior debut while on loan at Stockport County in 2007, before temporary moves to Carlisle United, Bristol Rovers and Norwich City over an 18-month period. The next two years away from St James’ Park were spent at Celtic, where he kept 50 clean sheets in his first 91 appearances, before a permanent deal was struck. During his four years at Parkhead he featured in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League; lifted four Scottish League titles and two Scottish FA Cups; and set a new league record for minutes without conceding (1,256 minutes). A £10m transfer to Southampton followed in August 2014 but a knee injury in March 2015 kept him out of the game for 10 months. On his return he set another club record for minutes without conceding (708). Forster made his England debut in November 2013 and was an unused member of the squads at the FIFA 2014 World Cup and UEFA Euro 2016.
