Cuco Martina

Rhu-Endly Aurelio Jean-Carlo Martina, better known as Cuco, is a Curacao international defender who was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on September 25, 1989. Cuco made his senior debut with RBC Roosendaal in the Dutch second division in 2008. Following the club’s demotion to the lowest tier of Dutch football, the right-back was released and signed for RKC Waalwijk for the 2010/11 season. In July 2013 Cuco moved to FC Twente, going on to captain the side.

Having played under Erwin Koeman at RKC, Martina rejoined his former coach and his brother, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman, in July 2015. He followed the Koemans to Everton in 2017 and has spent time on loan at Stoke City and Feyenoord since. Cuco has captained Curacao, for whom he has played alongside brothers Derwin and Javier.
