Carl Winchester

Carl Winchester is a Northern Ireland international defender who currently plays for Forest Green Rovers. Born in Belfast on 12th April 1993, Winchester joined Linfield at the age of 11 and would working his way up through the age group to represent the club at first-team before moving to England with Oldham Athletic in 2011. His debut for the Latics came in an FA Cup first-round tie at Accrington in November, 2010, aged 17, which would prove the start of a strong affinity with the Cup – in January 2013 he also played in a FA Cup third round ‘giant-killing’ as Oldham beat Liverpool 3-2 at Boundary Park. A forward-think left full-back, Winchester made his international debut for Northern Ireland against Wales in May 2011.
