Benjamin Mendy

Benjamin Mendy is a French left-back who plays for Manchester City. After beginning his professional career with Le Havre, Mendy moved to Marseille in the summer of 2013. He has represented his country from every youth level from under-16 upwards, impressing at the 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup and winning the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

After three seasons at the Stade Velodrome, Mendy signed for rivals Monaco for £11million in June 2016. He won the 2016/17 Ligue 1 title with Les Monegasques before signing for Manchester City in a £52million deal, making him the world's mos-expensive defender. Mendy immediately caught the eye for his explosive and dynamic attacking but his first season at the Etihad Stadium was ruined by injury.
