Benik Afobe

Benik Afobe is an England U21 striker currently playing for Bristol City. A graduate of the Arsenal youth academy, where he was in the same 2009 FA Youth Cup winning side as new Bournemouth team-mate Jack Wilshere, Afobe never actually made it into the Gunners’ first team. Between 2010 and 2015 he made a string of loan moves – Huddersfield Town, Reading, Bolton Wanderers, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons – before moving permanently to Wolverhampton Wanderers for £2m. A total of 13 goals in 21 Championship matches persuaded Bournemouth to smash their club record to pay £11m for the striker. Although uncapped at full international level, Afobe was called up by DR Congo in March 2016 for an African Cup of Nations Qualifying match against Angola.
