Bastian Schweinsteiger is a German midfielder, born on 1st August 1984, who plays for Chicago Fire FC. Schweinsteiger started his career with Bayern Munich, often playing as a winger in his early years. Initially playing for Bayern’s ‘B’ team, Schweinsteiger made the step up to the first team in 2002 and made his debut in November of that year. The German went on to become a Bayern legend, winning the Bundesliga on eight occasions and featuring in the Champions League winning side of 2012-13. After enjoying such success with Bayern, Schweinsteiger left the club to join Manchester United in 2015. Having worked his way through the German youth ranks, Schweinsteiger made his senior debut in June 2004. He played at multiple major championships for his country, including their victorious 2014 World Cup campaign.
