West Brom vs Wigan Prediction 1: West Brom to win
We kick off our predictions for this game by backing West Brom to win. Despite questionable recent form, West Brom have been very good at home of late having gone unbeaten in their last nine games at the Hawthorns where they've won eight and drawn one. Wigan meanwhile are winless on the road in their last 12 games. It's not a combination that puts Wigan in with a great chance of getting a result!
West Brom vs Wigan Prediction 2: Under 2.5 goals
The second of our football betting tips for this game comes from the total goals market and we're betting on under 2.5 goals. West Brom have gone under this threshold in four of their last five games with Wigan also seeing four of their past five games go under that 2.5 cut off. Each of the last six head to head games have fallen south of the 2.5 marker as well. That makes the odds on offer pretty decent!

So, that gives you some insight to how the different bookmakers see the action unfolding. How though do the West Brom vs Wigan odds translate into probability ahead of this game? Let's find out.
West Brom odds: 3/5 (1.60) – 31%
Draw odds: 3/1 (4.00) – 29%
Wigan odds: 19/4 (2.20) – 46%
When you're priced up in the way that Wigan are then you know that you're up against it in terms of taking maximum points and, in truth, a 3/1 (4.00) price on the draw is pretty high in comparison to where the average sits – particularly in the Championship. Needless to say, that makes the home side big favourites to take all three points and we'd expect the Baggies to feature pretty heavily on a lot of midweek betting slips.
Check out the predicted lineups ahead of West Brom vs Wigan
West Brom
West Brom had a poor weekend but, make no mistake about it, they remain firmly in the playoff hunt and know that a win here will take them to within four points of sixth place; that's a big incentive to go out and do the business. With that in mind, we'll see the strongest possible XI take to the field come kick off. That being said, there are a couple of notable names who won't feature with Karlan Grant and Grady Diangana amongst those injured.
Predicted lineup – Griffiths, Furlong, O'Shea, Pieters, Townsend, Molumby, Yoksulu, Wallace, Swift, Chalobah, Dike
Wigan
Despite not getting the win they wanted at the weekend, Wigan would have taken a fair bit of confidence from yet another draw; it shows they're far from out of their depth at this level despite the league table! We're expecting a very similar lineup for this game but with Will Keane perhaps likely to come into the side – perhaps to play alongside Ashley Fletcher rather than replace him!
Predicted lineup – Amos, Hughes, Whatmough, Rekik, Nyambe, Power, Tiehi, McClean, Keane, Aasgaard, Fletcher

Player to watch
When picking out a player to watch in this game it's hard not to big up Daryl Dike. The Baggies front man has only scored five goals this season – although his appearances have been limited – but two of those goals came in West Brom's last home game as they beat Middlesbrough. Given how good Boro have been of late, Dike will be thinking he can get amongst the goals once again against a vastly inferior Wigan side.
