Who could replace Sadio Mane at Bayern Munich?

Sadio Mane is on the verge of a move to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League which will end his one-year stay with Bayern Munich. The 31-year-old perhaps hasn't lived up to expectations in the Bundesliga, however, few would have expected him to leave after just one season particularly to make the move to Saudi Arabia given he still has so much to give at the top level.

However, Al Nassr have agreed a €38m fee with Bayern Munich for Mane after a week or so of negotiations and the forward has already agreed personal terms with the club. He is set to earn a whopping €40m per season at Al Nassr and he will link up with Cristiano Ronaldo who has been playing for the club the winter.

With Mane leaving Bayern, the German club will increase their efforts to bring in a new forward to the club. Before Mane left, they were already in a market for a new centre-forward but now they will surely double their efforts, especially with the new season just around the corner. Here are three of the players who could fill Mane's boots at the club.

Possible Mane replacements at Bayern Munich

Harry Kane

Bayern Munich's number one target this summer is Harry Kane and it goes without saying that he would be more than an adequate replacement for Sadio Mane. The Senegalese forward only managed seven league goals last season, which left a lot to be desired considering he was meant to be the like-for-like replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Kane, on the other hand, scored 30 league goals last season despite playing in an ultra-defensive system under Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur. In theory, he should at least produce a similar goal return for Bayern given he will be playing in the best team in the league alongside other phenomenal attacking players such as Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry.

Bayern are being very public in their pursuit of Kane and they have already had two offers rejected by Tottenham for the striker. The latest bid was said to be worth around €80m, but Spurs are holding out for something closer to €100m. This is certainly a deal to keep an eye on as the transfer window gets closer to shutting, especially as the England striker only has one year left on his current Spurs deal.

Victor Osimhen

If Bayern Munich can't get their hands on Harry Kane then they may well turn their attentions to another of Europe's hottest strikers. Napoli's Victor Osimhen is exactly that after leading the club to the Serie A title last season with 26 goals in 32 league appearances.

When Sadio Mane was first rumoured to be on the move from Bayern Munich following his spat with Leroy Sane last spring, the first name to be linked with the club as a possible replacement was Osimhen. Prizing the Nigerian striker away from Napoli won't be easy, however, and as his contract situation in Italy is more secure than Kane's, he could end up costing even more than €100m.

Julian Alvarez

One man who has been linked with Bayern Munich who wouldn't command a fee in the €100m bracket is Manchester City's Julian Alvarez. The Argentinian, who played a key role in his nation's World Cup triumph in the winter, has only been at City for a season but could be interested in a move away considering he is behind Erling Haaland in the pecking order under Pep Guardiola.

Given Haaland's goalscoring record, it's going to be difficult for Alvarez to ever establish himself as Manchester City's first-choice striker which is something Bayern Munich could take advantage of.
