Valerenga vs Viking: Top Two Predictions
Valerenga could move right into mid-table with a win at home to Viking on Sunday but that could prove easier said than done as their guests this weekend currently sit 3rd in the Eliteserien table.
Contents
Draw
We're backing Sunday's clash to end in a draw just as three of the last six league meetings between these two clubs have also finished. Valerenga and Viking drew 1-1 in this very fixture last season and both teams have had mixed results in the Eliteserien of late. Valerenga have won three and drawn one of their last four league games while Viking have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five outings in the Eliteserien, so you can see why we're going with a stalemate on Sunday.
Both Teams to Score
There is a great chance that we will be treated to goals at both ends of the pitch this weekend as five of the last six encounters between these two clubs have ended the very same way. The hosts have only failed to score in two of their last six matches and both teams have scored in five of Viking's last six outings, adding further weight to our prediction.

Viking looking to put pressure on the top two with a win
Valerenga put in a strong performance away at Sarpsborg last weekend. Layouni handed the visitors a first-half lead with a goal right on the half-hour mark. Valerenga kept things really tight at the back, frustrating Sarpsborg throughout manfully defending anything the home side had to throw at them. Eventually, Valerenga claimed their 1-0 victory and will be full of confidence heading into a tricky home game against Viking.
Valerenga Predicted Lineup: Sjøeng, Nation, Hedenstad, Zuta, Näsberg, Jensen, Bjørdal, Strand, Layouni, Sahraoui & Jatta
Viking were expected to win their last match at home to bottom of the table, and winless, Kristiansund. However, the first forty-0five minutes ended goalless and early in the second half, Kristiansund took the lead. Viking needed a response and they got it a minute later when Kabran made it 1-1. A winning goal looked like it might escape the home side until the 89th-minute when a penalty was awarded, one which Sandberg coolly despatched to secure all 3pts for the home side.
Viking Predicted Lineup: Gunnarsson, Vevatne, Bjørshol, Brekalo, Pattynama, Tangen, Solbakken, de Lanlay, Kabran, Traoré & Karlsbakk
