UEFA Champions League correct score betting tips: Citizens to ramp up title defence

We provide UEFA Champions League correct score betting tips as Europe’s premier competition returns this week.

The round of 16 clashes begin on Tuesday in Denmark, where Copenhagen will hope to upset the current Champions League holders Man City. A heavyweight clash on Tuesday also sees stuttering RB Leipzig host 14-time UCL champions Real Madrid.

After navigating the 2023/24 ‘Group of Death’, Paris Saint-Germain will be eager to push on as they welcome an out-of-form Real Sociedad to Parc des Princes. Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio will complete this week’s round of 16 ties against German giants Bayern Munich.

UEFA Champions League correct score betting tips

Copenhagen vs Man City – Man City to win 3-1

Against the odds, Copenhagen edged Galatasaray and Man United to second place in Group A.

The Danish side only won two group-stage matches – beating Man United 4-3 and Galatasaray 1-0. But an eight-point total was enough to qualify for the Champions League knockout rounds.

Up next for Jacob Neestrup’s side is another tough challenge as in-form Man City heads to Parken. City are in rampant form and have won 10 successive fixtures in all competitions. In this run, Pep Guardiola’s side have scored 29 goals.

To make matters more challenging for the hosts is the fact they have not played a competitive fixture since besting Galatasaray in mid-December.

Copenhagen will be confident of striking at least once on home soil, however. The Danish 2022/23 Danish Superliga champions have scored at least once in their last four UCL home matches.

It's hard to look beyond City based on their current form, and another comfortable Citizens victory is anticipated.

RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid – Real Madrid to win 2-1

Things haven’t gone to plan for RB Leipzig since returning to Bundesliga action since the winter break. In 2024, Leipzig lost three of five matches – including two losses at the Red Bull Arena.

The Red Bulls will not be relishing the upcoming visit from La Liga toppers Real Madrid. Los Blancos produced a flawless display to thrash title challengers Girona 4-0 on Saturday and will be full of confidence.

This result extended Madrid’s unbeaten run to five in all competitions, and Carlo Ancelotti’s side has netted 12 goals in this run.

While Real Madrid are expected to carry their strong form into this contest, Leipzig will be confident of notching at least one goal. Marco Rose’s side has scored one or more goals in 12 of 14 matches at the Red Bull Arena.

However, Los Blancos are likely to have too much quality for a struggling Red Bull side and a 2-1 away victory is tipped.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Real Sociedad – PSG to win 2-0

PSG are unbeaten in 16 in all competitions, have won 12 and look in fine form.

In the Champions League, positive home form was crucial to PSG’s progression from a challenging group of AC Milan, Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund. Luis Enrique’s side brushed aside Dortmund (2-0) and AC Milan (3-0) and drew with Newcastle (1-1) at home in the group stages.

As PSG build momentum during an impressive campaign so far, visiting Real Sociedad returns to Champions League action in patchy form.

Sociedad are winless in their last four matches and have failed to score in each fixture. In addition, Imanol Alguacil’s side hasn’t scored in their last two Champions League games.

Les Parisiens will therefore be confident of notching a solid first-leg lead at the Parc des Princes over Sociedad.

Lazio vs Bayern Munich – 1-1 Draw

A saving grace for Sarri’s Lazio this season has been a strong UCL campaign, backed up by hard-to-beat home form.

Lazio have lost just two of their last 16 at the Stadio Olimpico. Defensive solidity has also been crucial to the Eagles’ success at home, as they have shipped just 10 goals in Rome.

Sarri’s side can limit a Bayern Munich side coming into this clash after a crushing 3-0 loss at title rivals Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. It was the second time in five matches that Thomas Tuchel’s side failed to hit the net.

Bayern also finished their UCL group stage struggling for goals. A 0-0 draw with Galatasaray and a cagey 1-0 win at Man United showed frailties in an otherwise strong showing in Group A.

Lazio will be fully aware of how important a solid first-leg showing will be at the Stadio Olimpico. The Eagles have enough defensive structure and counter-attacking power to hold Bayern.
