Trabzonspor vs Hajduk Lineups, Match Information, and Team News
Trabzonspor
New coach Nenad Bjelica went to his former player Mislav Orsic to bring him as his biggest summer signing coming over from Southampton. Other players that arrived in recent weeks are the Spanish defender Joaquin Fernandez and midfielder Dimitrios Kourbelis. However, there is plenty of money left as Trabzonspor wants to become a title contender once again after a disappointing campaign in which they failed to defend their title and fell early in European competition. Bjelica has a lot of experience in building team chemistry as once did with Dinamo Zagreb, so it is now a wonder that he is trying to do further business dealings with the Croatian champions.
Probable lineup: Cakir, Bartra, Turkmen, Elmali, Larsen, Siopsis, Flavio, Parmak, Akpinar, Bozok, Koita.
Hajduk
The Croatian outfit has one of the most dedicated fan bases in the country, but their indecisiveness in the transfer market has kept them frustrated. Hajduk brought Zvonimir Sarlija and Leon Dajaku, but those signings are not the ones that the fans wanted as they look for more familiar names. The star of the team is Marko Livaja, a controversial figure who represented Croatia at the World Cup last year, but dropped out from the national team on his own accord just before the Nations League conclusion. The veteran striker Nikola Kalinic left the team when his contract expired at the end of last season.
Probable lineup: Lucic, Vuskovic, Ferro, Sarlija, Elez, Melnjak, Grgic, Capan, Krovinovic, Benrahou, Livaja.
Player to Watch: Umut Bozok
This will be the second season at Trabzonspor for Umut Bozok and the fans will demand more from the former Lorient striker. In the total of 37 games played for Trabzonspor, Bozok scored ten goals which are far from his best numbers that were achieved when he played at Nimes and Kasimpasa.
The 26-year-old has been capped by Turkey's national team on a single occasion. His best performance came when he played for the French side Nimes where Bozok accumulated 27 goals in 65 appearances. The competition for places in Trabzonspor's starting lineup will be tougher in the new season and coach Bjelica will give a chance to everyone before deciding his striking options.
