FC Copenhagen staged a huge shock in the Champions League group stages by finishing second ahead of Manchester United Galatasaray. Landing the second spot has seen them draw Manchester City in the knockout stages.
It's certainly a David vs Goliath clash with Man City the current holders and utterly dominant in Europe as of late. However, FC Copenhagen do indeed still boast some talented players throughout their squad.
Three FC Copenhagen players who could shock City
Diogo Goncalves is one of the more experienced players within FC Copenhagen's squad and it really showed during the Champions League group stages.
The Portuguese star got two goals and one assist in the group stages, including one each against Manchester United. With eight goals and six assists all season, backing him to score anytime at 9/2 is more than appealing.
He's the second top scorer for Copenhagen in Europe's elite competition this term and loves playing against Manchester teams, so this could well be the Cinderella story that the rest of Europe is looking for as they hope Man City get an early shock.
The former Southampton and Celtic man is still tearing teams up on the wing back in Scandinavia. Mohamed Elyounoussi has been a very reliable performer in the final third, especially in the Champions League with two goals to his name.
Elyounoussi was the first name on the scoresheet when Copenhagen kicked off their Champions League campaign. So, he could be a solid option to open the scoring against Manchester City this upcoming week.
The Norweigan ace is priced at 18/1 to score first, which is incredibly high odds, but with a raucous home crowd behind Copenhagen, he could pull it off.
Not many will be giving FC Copenhagen a chance in this tie – much like they didn't in the group stages – but they have not conceded in Europe in their last two matches against two very difficult opponents.
Clean sheets against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, respectively, with the latter helping them earn a precious 1-0 win saw them reach this stage of the competition. Both of these results were largely down to the fine work of shot-stopper Kamil Grabara.
He faced nine shots on target over the two games as well as only having nine players in front of him during the Galatasaray match but he didn't flinch in the face of adversity.
Grabara will have to be at his very best to hand his side a chance of causing something of an upset against Man City. At the time of writing, you can get FC Copenhagen to win to nil against Man City at odds of 18/1.
