A Swiss win to end Greek's impressive unbeaten run

Greece will be delighted with their recent form given they're unbeaten in 10 games despite facing Belgium and Spain not too long ago; despite that, we think they're about to lose that streak. Switzerland are a decent outfit and they come into this match off the back of a really impressive showing at Euro 2020. In that tournament they eliminated France and only lost themselves to Spain on penalties. Their longer term form has been good too; prior to the European Championships they'd been seven games unbeaten winning six on the spin.

Both teams to score in the match

Our next prediction for this match is that both teams will score inside the 90 minutes. Switzerland have seen goals for both sides in four of their past five matches; the one blemish on that record being a 3-0 loss they suffered to Italy during the Euros. For Greece, they haven't seen a clean sheet on either side of a match result in their last five. With both attacks scoring regularly and neither team having recorded a clean sheet in their respective last five games it's hard to provide and argument for both teams to score ‘no'.

Super Shaqiri to score

Our final tip is backing Xherdan Shaqiri to score anytime. The little man is a standout player for this Swiss and after switching Liverpool, where he was very much a bit part player, for Lyon he'll be buzzing. On top of that, he's just had a huge role in his nations Euro 2020 run having contributed three goals and an assist during their five matches; it means he's a man in form. Given this match is likely to be a tightly contested affair, a player with Shaqiri's flair could well be the difference.

The best odds for Switzerland vs Greece

Switzerland to come out on top of close match

Switzerland were one of the surprise packages at Euro 2020 with their win over France one of the highlight games. It wasn't an unexpected showing from the Swiss though with their all round form very strong of late. It will be a big boost to them that our goal scorer tip Shaqiri is going to get regular minutes moving forwards but Mario Gavranovic will miss out through injury. Greece obviously have their own European Championship story but that's a distant memory now. John van t' Schip is building a decent outfit though and an unbeaten run of 10 games is not to be sniffed at. Christos Tzolis joined Premier League Norwich in the summer and is arguably the biggest threat to Switzerland.
