Hot Tip – Stoke to Win

  • Stoke have won three of their last six meetings with Rotherham, including twice this season in the Championship and the League Cup.
  • Stoke have only lost one of their last six matches in all competitions.

Another reason that we have backed Stoke to win as our main prediction for this game is that Rotherham have lost three of their last six matches in league and cup.

Rotherham vs Stoke team news

Rotherham

Rotherham came away with a decent point from their trip to Ewood Park on New Year's Day. The visitors came from behind twice thanks to goals from Sean Morrison and then Tom Eaves to pinch a point against Blackburn late on. That result puts Rotherham on eighteen points for the season, bottom of the table and seven points adrift of safety.

Lee Peltier, Grant Hall, Fred Onyedinma, Andre Green, Tyler Blackett, Cameron Humphreys and Shane Ferguson could all miss out this weekend due to injury.

Predicted Lineup: Johansson (GK), Morrison, Odoffin, Bramall, Revan, Lembikisa, Clucas, Tiéhi, Rathbone, Eaves & Nombe

Stoke

Stoke were reduced to ten men in the second half of their home game against Ipswich Town but managed to hold on for a share of the spoils. This goalless draw won't live long in the memory but after having Jordan Thompson sent off in the sixty-seventh minute, Stoke will have been the happier of the two sides to see the game end in a bore draw.

Thompson will miss the game against Rotherham on Saturday through suspensions, while Frank Fielding, Enda Stevens, Tyrese Campbell and Emre Tezgel are all injury concerns and Junior Tchamadeu is away on international duty.

Predicted Lineup: Bonham (GK), Rose, Hoever, McNally, Wilmot, Baker, Johnson, Vidigal, Burger, Bae & Mmaee

Player to Watch: André Vidigal

Stoke City's Portuguese midfielder André Vidigal could prove key to an away win this weekend.

The former Maritimo man has netted five times in the Championship this season, making him Stoke's top goalscorer. The 25-year-old has only scored once in his last ten appearances and is due a goal, so you wouldn't bet against him finding the back of the net against the division's bottom club.
