Southampton - Blackburn

England Championship - St. Mary's Stadium

* Betting odds were correct at the time of publication but are subject to change

It’s a massive game involving two promotion hopefuls on Saturday in the Championship, as St. Mary’s opens its doors for a clash between Southampton and Blackburn Rovers with eight points separating the two teams.

Southampton vs Blackburn prediction – Betting tips & odds

Hot Tip – Southampton to win

  • Southampton are in fourth and eight clear of Blackburn and on a run of 13 unbeaten games
  • A run of 13 games without a loss is the best in the Championship right now

We have also decided to back Southampton because of how Blackburn have even managed to lose to Sheffield Wednesday recently. Rovers have now suffered the same amount of wins as losses (10), meaning only Stoke City and those in the bottom three have lost more league games.

Player to Watch: Adam Armstrong

Ever since the first handful of games, Adam Armstrong has managed to put himself right in the mix for the top scorer award and the best player of the season title.

So far, the striker has 12 goals and six assists from the 21 games meaning he is challenging Blackburn's Sammie Szmodics for the Golden Boot – the Blackburn striker has 14 goals. We have, however, chose Armstrong as our player to watch, as he is at home with Southampton.
