Contents
If you need help to find the latest J League predictions ahead of the match between Shonan and Albirex Niigata, you're in the right place:
Under 2.5 Goals
Both of these teams head into this encounter in terrible form. Shonan have lost their last five matches, only scoring three goals while Albirex Niigata have been slightly better, with one win from their last five. However, that came at home, and it's been eight matches since their last victory on the road.
Shonan have lost their last three matches at home, and the last time these two met, Shonan managed to get three vital points in a narrow 1-0 victory. With so much on the line, a repeat low scoring affair looks firmly on the cards for two teams who struggle to create.
BTTS – No
Carrying on from the theme of both teams struggling for goals, neither team will want to lose this match which could mean both goalkeepers won't be tested as often as they have in recent weeks. Collectively scoring six goals across ten matches isn't anything to shout about, and it's worth pointing out that Albirex have only scored six goals from their seven away matches this season.

Shonan – Albirex Niigata Preview:
This looks to be a tense match on Saturday morning, so let's take a better look at the teams ahead of their game:
Shonan
Although Shonan head into their match against Albirex Niigata as the evens favourites, they have lost their last six matches and haven't won in eleven matches – a 3-0 win over Shimizu in the cup. Despite having only scored 21 goals in the J League, forward Shuto Machino has been a shining light in what has been a disappointing campaign to date. The Japanese striker has scored seven league goals, exactly a third of Shonan's overall total and he will be their main asset on Saturday if they are to pick up all three points.
Shonan will be without their defender Koki Tachi who saw a straight red after 12 minutes last time out to Hiroshima.
Shonan Predicted Lineup:
Song – Sugioka, Oiwa, Ono – Hata, Elyounoussi, Barada, Onose, Ishihara – Wakatsuki, Machino
Albirex Niigata
Shonan's relegation rivals, Albirex Niigata, head into this one having lost their last three matches, only scoring two goals in the process. However, Albirex Niigata can take some positives from recent displays, and their last victory was against the 2022 champions Yokohama FM on home soil, coming from behind to win 2-1 in front of their own fans.
Like Shonan, Albirex Niigata have a player they very much depend on. Ryotaro Ito has scored seven goals and is their top goalscorer to date, who also managed to score their equaliser against Yokohama FM in May.
Albirex Niigata Predicted Lineup:
Kojima – Horigome, Chiba, James, Fujiwara – Shimada, Ko – Mito, Ito, Takagi – Taniguchi

Player to Watch: Shuto Machino
Shonan striker Shuto Machino is their main hope of collecting all three points, and arguably the player who will be hoping to save them from relegation at the end of the season. However, after scoring seven goals to date, the 23-year-old will know other clubs will be watching him, and so he will be keen to impress.
This is an early season six-pointer for both clubs, and Machino knows he has an opportunity to write the headlines for himself on Saturday if he can score an important goal for Shonan.
