Sheffield United kick off their highly-anticipated return to the Premier League with a clash against Crystal Palace at Bramall Lane on Saturday. It really has been neck and neck between the Blades and the Eagles over the years, but the latter just edge the head-to-head battle, which should give them confidence going into the upcoming match.

Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace Head-To-Head Record
Sheffield United have met Crystal Palace 57 times in all competitions, with the Eagles winning 23 of those matches. The Blades have won 22, with 12 draws between the two clubs.
It’s been very competitive between the two clubs over the decades, although their chances of playing one another have been limited in recent years due to competing in different leagues. But after the Eagles secured their top flight safety under veteran manager Roy Hodgson last season, and the Blades finished second to champions Burnley in the Championship last time out, Crystal Palace will now take on Sheffield United twice this season.
The sides last met in the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, with the London outfit winning 2-0 on both occasions as the Sheffield side were relegated to the Championship. The season before, however, was a victorious won for the Blades, who defeated Palace twice by a scoreline of 1-0 as they secured an impressive ninth place finish in the table.
It will definitely be interesting, then, to see how the two clubs get on against one another this season, with the first fixture at Bramall Lane this weekend followed by the return clash at Selhurst Park at the end of January 2024.

Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace Trophy Head-To-Head
It’s been quite a while since either Sheffield United or Crystal Palace lifted a trophy, although many Blades fans will not care about missing out on Championship silverware last season, with their second place finish still of course good enough to clinch a spot in the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Sheffield United have five league trophies to their name throughout the history of the club; First Division (1897/98), Second Division (1952/53), League One (2016/17), Fourth Division (1981/82) and the Football League North (1945/46). The Blades have also lifted the prestigious FA Cup trophy on four occasions; 1898/99, 1901/02, 1914/15 and 1924/25.
Crystal Palace meanwhile have won the English second tier twice (1978/79 and 1993/94), and the third tier once (1920/21). The Eagles also have a record four play-off final wins to their name (1988/89, 1996/97, 2003/04 and 2012/13).
Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace Top Goalscorer in last five duels
Nothing much has separated these clubs in their overall head-to-head battles over the years, and the same can be said for their last five results.
As mentioned, the Eagles were 2-0 winners in the last two matches, with Christian Benteke and Eberechi Eze grabbing the goals in the most recent encounter, with the latter scoring in the other 2-0 win, alongside Jeffrey Schlupp.
In Sheffield United’s 1-0 victories before that, an own goal from Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita helped the Blades to all three points at Selhurst Park, with John Lundstram finding the back of the net at Bramall Lane.
In their fifth most recent match, it was Crystal Palace who came out on top, with Darren Ambrose scoring the only goal of the game in their 2011 Championship clash.
Eagles star Eze is, therefore, the top goalscorer from the last five matches between the two clubs with two goals, a tally he could add to on Saturday.
