Roma vs Sampdoria: Top Three Predictions

* Betting odds were correct at the time of publication but are subject to change.

Roma sit 5th in the Serie A table and head into Wednesday's game against Sampdoria as the bookmaker's favourites to secure all 3pts. The visitors occupy 15th position but have seen their form and performances improve of late so Roma could be in for a tricky 90-minutes and will need to be at their best to win.

BTTS

Both teams have scored in two of Roma's last three outings and the hosts put 4-goals past Atalanta last time out. Sampdoria have seen each of their last six matches in league and cup end with both teams getting on the scoreboard and their returns in front of goal have improved greatly over the last few weeks.

Over 2.5 Goals

This game has the potential to produce plenty of goals and we're expecting an entertaining 90-minutes between the pair. At least three goals have been scored in three of Roma's last four outings in all competitions while five of Sampdoria's last six matches have produced over 2.5 goals, so you can see why we're confident that this game will produce plenty of goalmouth action.

Roma have the home advantage but Sampdoria arrive in good goalscoring form

Roma were up against the odds when they made the trip to Atalanta last time out, but not even the most die-hard of Roma fans could have been expecting this result. Abraham opened the scoring in the very 1st-minute and Zaniolo made it 2-0 just before the half-hour mark. Atalanta pulled a goal back before the break after Cristante put through his own goal. However, Smalling restored the visitors two-goal lead in the 72nd-minute and Abraham scored his second of the game with 8-minutes left on the clock to wrap up a 4-1 win for Roma.

Roma Predicted Lineup: Patrício, Smalling, Karsdorp, Mancini, Viña, Ibañez, Mkhitaryan, Veretout, Cristante, Zaniolo & Abraham

Sampdoria got off to a fast start at home to Venezia at the weekend when Gabbiadini extended his good run in front of goal in the very 1st-minute. However, Sampdoria failed to add to their tally and it cost them late on when Henry equalised for newly-promoted Venezia in the 87th-minute. Sampdoria are improving but still sit deep in the bottom half of the table but certainly have the potential to challenge for a top-half finish if they can find some consistency.

Sampdoria Predicted Lineup: Audero, Yoshida, Bereszyński, Colley, Augello, Silva, Candreva, Ekdal, Thorsby, Caputo & Gabbiadini

Team News

Roma: Felix Afena-Gyan is suspended for the home side, while Stephan El Shaarawy, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Leonardo Spinazzola are injury concerns.

Sampdoria: Ernesto Torregrossa, Mikkel Damsgaard and Ronaldo Vieira could miss out on Wednesday through injury.
