Team Information, Match Preview, and Rennes vs West Ham Lineups
Rennes
The Ligue 1 outfit has been building a solid team for the past few weeks bringing two attacking midfielders to the fold. Ludovic Blas was excellent last season for Nantes while Enzo Le Fee surprised with his form playing in Lorient's jersey. Gauthier Gallon and Alan Do Marcolino are other newcomers to the squad. There were a few departures, Serhou Guirassy joined Stuttgart, Loic Blade is a new Seville player and Andy Diouf went to FC Basel. There is a question mark regarding the future of Lovro Majer whose stocks have plummeted after the last season. He was once tipped to possibly join the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal, but now Rennes has trouble finding someone to take on the Croatian player. Martin Terrier missed most of last season with an ACL injury and he is still recuperating.
Possible lineup: Gomis, Theate, Wooh, Truffert, Assignon, Tait, Bourigeaud, Blas, Le Fee, Doku, Gouiri.
West Ham
These are the final days of July, and around two weeks before the new season starts, there are still no new players coming to West Ham. There are offers, however, on the table and the latest news is that the Hammers are trying to lure Chelsea's Connor Gallagher to the London Stadium, but their first offer was rejected. It is not very often that we see a club from one of the best leagues in the world going so slowly and some would say, carelessly into the transfer market because the season will start very soon.
Possible lineup: Fabianski, Aguerd, Kehrer, Emerson, Coufal, Soucek, Paqueta, Fornals, Benrahma, Bowen, Scamacca.
Player to Watch: Gianluca Scamacca
The Italian forward is entering his second season in London and after some injury problems, Scamacca is looking forward to further adjust to the Premier League. Last season, the 24-year-old scored eight goals in 27 appearances which is a much lower number from his time at Sassuolo.
Scamacca started the preseason with an injury problem before finally joining the training process. As West Ham is struggling to find the right players for the new season, Scamacca will surely have plenty of chances to get his season going positively. He was capped by Italy's national team eleven times without scoring a goal.
Starting lineups
Starting lineups are usually released 60 minutes before kick-off.
