Marcus Rashford is on the cusp of signing a new five-year contract with Manchester United that will make him one of the Premier League’s best-paid players, according to multiple reports.
The 25-year-old had just 12 months left on his old deal with the Red Devils and there were even fears that the Manchester-born attacker might leave his boyhood club to seek out a fresh challenge abroad next summer.
However, now Rashford looks set to extend his stay at Old Trafford to at least 2028 in an agreement that is certain to excite United supporters ahead of the new club campaign.

Rashford’s explosive 2022/23 season
Marcus Rashford’s dragged his performance levels to new heights last season under the instruction of new United boss Erik ten Hag and the rapid forward smashed home a superb 30 goals in 56 matches in all competitions.
Alongside netting 17 times in the Premier League, Rashford also bagged six goals in the Europa League while his effort against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup Final allowed United to end a lengthy wait for a piece of domestic silverware.
Rashford’s dynamic displays armed him and his agent Dwaine Maynard with plenty of leverage in negotiations with United this summer and despite links with Ligue 1 giants PSG, terms have now been agreed that will push the academy graduate towards the top of the list of the Premier League’s highest earners.
Once Rashford signs on the dotted line, only Man City pair Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, and Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah will have bigger pay packets in England’s top tier.
Rashford has been with United since the age of seven and has scored 123 times in 359 appearances for the first team since making his debut in 2016.
Rashford to become Man Utd’s highest earner
Marcus Rashford’s lucrative new contract will also make him the best-paid player at Manchester United in time for the new Premier League season.
At present, Jadon Sancho – who has failed to live up to his billing since signing from Borussia Dortmund – has the highest salary at the club, pulling in a staggering £350,000 per week.
Next in line is French icon Raphael Varane, who is believed to earn around £340,00 per week, while Casemiro pulls in £300,000 per week at the base of United’s midfield.
Interestingly, another perennial underperformer, Anthony Martial, is listed near the top with a salary package worth £250,000 per week, with skipper in waiting Bruno Fernandes on £240,000.
However, the figures on Rashford’s payslip will soon eclipse everyone else’s at the Theatre of Dreams.
Rashford targeting more trophies
Having enjoyed success in the Carabao Cup last season, Marcus Rashford will be targeting more trophies in 2023/24 and some reports earlier in the summer even indicated that the attacker wanted to see some ambition from United in the summer transfer market before agreeing terms on a new contract.
The club have already secured a deal to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea, while their swoop for Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana is also close to completion. Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat are also on United’s radar.
