Seven teams have won the FA Cup since 2000 with three Premier League clubs – Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United – dominating in the 18 finals since the dawn of the new millennium.
Some finals have been unforgettable, such as Liverpool‘s penalty shoot-out win over West Ham United following a 3-3 draw in 2006. While others have been completely wiped from the memory – think Chelsea‘s extra-time win over United in 2007 as the cup returned to Wembley.
There was also Portsmouth‘s famous win over Cardiff City in 2008. And in 2013 Wigan Athletic clinched their first FA Cup win days before they were relegated from the top flight.
The FA Cup fifth round is where English football turns its attention this weekend. All those taking part dreaming of a big afternoon out under the Wembley arch. But, for all but two, that will be just a pipe dream in five months' time.
