Manchester City may have vanquished almost every team in their path last season but that didn't stop Pep Guardiola from having a good old moan about the Premier League's festive fixtures.
“We're going to kill the players,” the Catalan said. “They play 11 months in a row. We have to protect them and play with quality and not quantity. We have to think about the artists.
“I know it is not going to change but for what? Life would survive without playing every two days. Nothing would happen.”
But was Guardiola right? Does the quality of the Premier League suffer because of the intense fixture list over the Christmas period?
That question certainly piqued our interest here at Football Whispers and so in this week's episode of Three Minute Myths, we dived into the data to find out.
The results were certainly interesting, and may not be what many fans expect. Watch the video above to find out the results and let us know what you think we should tackle next by commenting on the video or tweeting us at @FB_Whispers.
