Today's Free Predictions for Switzerland vs Portugal

Portugal top Group 2 of the Nations League and remain unbeaten heading into matchday four away at Switzerland. The hosts have been so poor in their opening three matches, suffering defeats in each game and simply have to win this weekend to stand any chance of progressing in this competition.

Portugal to Win

We're backing Ronaldo and co to secure another 3pts on Sunday when they face a Switzerland side that they have beaten in each of the last three meetings. Portugal ran out 4-0 winners at home against the Swiss last week and the visitors have won four of their last five matches in all competitions. Switzerland have lost four of their last five international matches and look a shadow of the side that performed so well at Euro 2020.

Over 2.5 Goals

Over 2.5 goals have been scored in each of the last two meetings between Switzerland and Portugal and we're backing at least three goals to be scored on Sunday as well. Over 2.5 goals have been produced in four of Switzerland's and three of Portugal's last six outings in all competitions, so you can see just why we're backing goals on Sunday.

Portugal remain unbeaten in Group 2

Switzerland had the home advantage against Spain on Thursday night and were hoping to get their first points on the board in Group 2. However, a goal from Sarabia in the 13th-minute put Spain in front and the Swiss failed to carve out an equaliser in the time remaining, making it three defeats from three games in this season's Nations League.  Switzerland not only sit bottom of Group 2 but they also have a dire goal difference of -6 have only managed to score 1-goal in the competition so far.

Switzerland Predicted Lineup: Sommer, Rodríguez, Widmer, Akanji, Cömert, Zuber, Shaqiri, Xhaka, Freuler, Aebischer & Embolo

Portugal looked full of confidence at home to the Czech Republic in midweek. Goals from Cancelo and Guedes in the space of 5 first-half minutes, both assisted by Bernardo Silva, put the hosts 2-0 up at the interval. Although Portugal failed to add any further goals in the second forty-five, they did nullify anything the Czech Republic had to throw at them and the game ended in a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Portugal Predicted Lineup: Costa, Pepe, Cancelo, Guerreiro, Pereira, Carvalho, Neves, Silva, Ronaldo, Guedes & Jota

Team News

Switzerland: Loris Benito, Denis Zakaria, Edimilson Fernandes, Cedric Itten, Christian Fassnacht and Albian Ajeti miss out for the hosts.

Portugal: José Fonte, Cédric Soares, Rúben Dias, Nélson Semedo, Renato Sanches, João Félix and Rafa Silva have not been selected by the visitors.
