Portsmouth to win

A run of just seven points from 30 available had Portsmouth fans fearing their hopes of the playoffs were dwindling. In came Danny Cowley though and two wins later, things look a lot brighter. A game against the bottom side who boast the worst defensive record is the perfect opportunity to make it three wins on the spin. Rochdale are still fighting but it's hard to look past a home win.

Marcus Harness to score

When the Cowley brothers took control of Pompey the job was to turn the ship back towards it's promotion path. They've done exactly that. We're two games in, they've got two wins and Marcus Harness has got two goals. He'd only got five from his previous 34. There has been plenty of talk about Harness now being played in a manner that suits him and Cowley has himself talked up his winger to hit double figures. Another goal against a shoddy Rochdale defence would help him on his way to that target.

Portsmouth to win to nil

If there is one thing missing from Cowley's bright start on the south coast it's a clean sheet. It's something the management team will be all to aware of; they're not a million miles away defensively either – they've only conceded six in their last five. If they want a clean sheet, they won't come much easier than against Rochdale. The visitors have blanked eight times in their last 10 matches.

Cowley's to make it a perfect three from three

Portsmouth vs Rochdale is a clash of two sides who had been having a pretty torrid time of late. Portsmouth have changed manager and look to be heading in the right direction again. Rochdale have also stopped the rot somewhat with four respectable points from their last duo of matches against Lincoln and Peterborough respectively. They had lost six of eight prior to that though. Stephen Humphrys has bagged in back to back games for the Dale. The match will be decided by Portsmouth though. They clearly have the better players and, if they approach things with the right attitude, they'll run out winners.
