This Premier League season is starting to feel all too familiar for Stoke City supporters. Yet again the Potters are playing uninspiring football under an increasingly unpopular manager. And yet it's unlikely anything will change soon.

Mark Hughes‘ side are outside of the relegation zone on goal difference. They've lost four of their last five top flight fixtures and were embarrassed in the Carabao Cup this week, losing 4-1 to Championship side Bristol City.

The trip to Watford on Saturday puts Stoke's plight into perspective. The Hornets appointed Marco Silva in the summer and have been rewarded with exciting football and impressive results.

Hughes, meanwhile, remained as Stoke's boss and while the club are unlikely to get relegated on his watch, simply surviving shouldn't be the ambition of a club that has been in the Premier League for almost ten years.

So the match against the Hornets is important for the Welshman. Defeat will only further highlight how change can make a big impact. Claim victory and perhaps it will give Hughes a bit of breathing space.

But who should be included in the Stoke starting XI? Xherdan Shqairi is a doubt but should be fit, however, Bruno Martins Indi (calf) and Stephen Ireland (broken leg) are ruled out.
