Southampton will be without impressive midfielder Mario Lemina for Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley, Mauricio Pellegrino has confirmed.

The Gabonese has starred for the Saints since his summer move from Juventus but has been ruled out of Saturday's fixture against the Clarets with an ankle injury.

Lemina joins full-back Jeremy Pied on the sidelines for the Southampton. But there is better news on striker Charlie Austin who has recovered from a knock which ruled him out against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

Pellegrino changed shape slightly for the trip to Amex, setting his side up in a 4-1-4-1 system, but could revert to the 4-3-1-2 which he had previously utilised with Lemina set to miss out.

The Argentine will likely bring James Ward-Prowse back into midfield regardless with Dusan Tadić or Sofiane Boufal playing in the No.10 role behind two of Manolo Gabbiadini, Shane Long and Austin.
