After a tumultuous week which has seen them dumped out of the League Cup by Motherwell and Pedro Caixinha sacked as manager, Rangers must pull themselves out of the gathering wreckage of their season to face Hearts on Saturday.

Graeme Murty has been appointed to take charge of first-team matters on an interim basis and will attempt to galvanise the squad who failed to beat struggling Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Murty will be without veteran defender Bruno Alves after his two-match suspension for the red card he received against Motherwell for kicking out at Louis Moult.

Midfielder Ryan Jack is also suspended after being sent off against Kilmarnock, which means Carlos Peńa may be asked to play in a deeper central role.

Midfielder Graham Dorrans could also miss the trip as he recovers from an injury sustained during the draw with Kilmarnock, which could be a chance for Eduardo Herrera to start. Elsewhere, Fábio Cardoso is still ruled out with the broken nose he picked up against Motherwell.

Other than that, it's difficult to gauge if Murty will plump for continuity or upheaval with regards to the starting line-up.
