Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was coy when asked about his team selection for tonight's Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest, but still dropped some big hints.
When asked what kind of team he would put out against Mark Warburton's Championship outfit, the Italian said: “I think the next game could be a good opportunity to give a chance to some players that in the last period, didn't play a lot. It could be a good opportunity.”
Pressed further on who might be in line for an appearance, Conte suggested youngsters Charly Musonda and Kenedy – who had an unsuccessful loan spell at Watford last term – could benefit from a heavily-rotated XI.
“I'd like to tell you tomorrow,” Conte said. “For sure tomorrow it could be a good opportunity for Charly – for Musonda – and also for Kenedy it is the same.”
Although Chelsea's first-team squad is paper-thin, Conte has a number of young players in the club's Under-23 ranks who are chomping at the bit for a chance in the first team.
As well as Musonda and Kenedy, Andreas Christensen, Jake Clarke-Salter and Kyle Scott could find themselves involved.
There will be a place for Real Madrid transfer target Eden Hazard who Conte confirmed is now ready to start after fracturing his ankle over the summer.
