Chelsea have one shot, one opportunity, to save their Champions League hopes against Tottenham Hotspur. Will they capture it or just let it slip?

The Blues are fifth, five points cut adrift of the Premier League top four. With eight games to play, time is running out for Antonio Conte to save the reigning champions season.

On the surface the Italian appears calm and ready to stop Spurs, but he has accepted defeat would be disastrous.

“If we win on Sunday we’ll go very close to Tottenham,” Conte said. “Otherwise it will be difficult to take a place in the Champions League.

“We are talking about a great team, a really good manager and a team with many talented players. I have great respect for Tottenham. In the last few years they have grown a lot. They’re one of the best teams in England. But nothing is impossible.”

Chelsea will assess the fitness of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender Andreas Christensen after the duo returned from the international break with knocks. David Luiz is ruled out with a knee problem while Ross Barkley is not yet fit to return to the first-team after his hamstring issue.
