Chelsea’s season isn’t going as planned.

At the end of September, they’d recovered from an opening-day defeat to Burnley and a chaotic transfer window to look like the team that won the Premier League last season by pulling off the first win for an opposition team in Atlético Madrid’s new Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

But since then, it’s all gone downhill and they haven’t won in three matches.

In fact, their last two Premier League matches have been defeats, against Manchester City and previously pointless Crystal Palace.

It would have been three losses in a row in all competitions had Eden Hazard not stepped up and headed home against Roma in a 3-3 draw on Wednesday.

And that’s hardly ideal preparation for Saturday’s lunchtime kickoff at Stamford Bridge against Watford, who have started the season brilliantly under new boss Marco Silva and sit above the Blues, in fourth.

How Antonio Conte lines up will be interesting, as he has switched between 3-4-3, which won them the title last season, and 3-5-2 this campaign.

But with N'Golo Kanté out with a hamstring injury, he’s been short in midfield, and after seeing Tiémoué Bakayoko and Cesc Fàbregas fail to impress against Crystal Palace, he put David Luiz alongside them against Roma, something he could do against vs Watford.

Danny Drinkwater is still out while Victor Moses is also injured. After playing the 90 minutes against Roma in midweek, it looks like Álvaro Morata is fully fit.
