Chelsea can take one more step towards the Premier League title on Tuesday night with a win over Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues recovered from their 2-0 loss to Manchester United by reaching the final of the FA Cup, beating league rivals Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 at Wembley.

Antonio Conte would have taken great heart in the way his team kept fighting, despite Spurs pegging them back twice, Nemanja Matic’s thunderbolt sealing the win with 10 minutes to go.

With six games to go and four points clear, everything is still to play for at the top of the table, but a win over Southampton would put the pressure back on Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Gary Cahill has returned to training following a bout of gastroenteristis and could be involved on Tuesday night.

Conte is also likely to recall both Diego Costa and Eden Hazard after the Italian left them out of Saturday’s win.

Chelsea travel away to Everton on Saturday, so it will be interesting to see if the Blues’ boss looks to make any further changes. Willian’s two goals will put him in contention and Spanish midfielder, Cesc Fàbregas will be looking for a start in the midfield.

Young Nathan Aké played the whole game against Spurs and finished with six tackles, two interceptions and four clearances. If fit, Cahill is favourite to start, but the 22-year-old did well enough to merit a run at centre-back.
