Celtic go into their game against German heavyweights Bayern Munich on the back of a 1-0 win at home to Dundee United.

The club continue their domestic dominance and remain unbeaten in 59 games in Scottish competitions.

Their only defeats this season have come against FK Astana in the second leg of their Champions League playoff with the tie already won, and against the stars of Paris Saint-Germain in one of the tournament's group games.

Manager Brendan Rodgers picked a much-changed side for the Dundee United fixture, with Scott Brown, Stuart Armstrong, Jozo Simunovic, Mikael Lustig, Tom Rogic and Craig Gordon all missing out for various reasons.

All could be back in contention for the game against the Bundesliga champions, which will be several steps up in quality from the games Celtic are used to, and a real test for the Northern Irishman and his team.

They will be hoping to build on their convincing 3-0 win at Anderlecht in their previous game in the competition, and a couple of shock results against the big two in the group is likely to be required to see them through to the knockout stages.

Getting a result away at Bayern, who are back under the guidance of legendary manager Jupp Heynckes, will be tough. They put five past SC Freiburg in the 72-year-old's first game back in charge, and it could be a case of damage limitation for Celtic before looking to take something from the game at Celtic Park later in the month.
