“Pedro Neto next club” is a phrase that will be searched a lot this summer as speculation grows over the Wolves star's future. According to Arsenal journalist Charles Watts, he is someone the Gunners “admire greatly” as they ponder a transfer.
They reportedly made an enquiry for him last summer, and he has been on their shortlist since 2022. Neto is a self-confessed Arsenal fan, and he has made a great impression on Mikel Arteta and Edu since joining the Premier League. The North Londoners are also reportedly interested in Neto's Wolves teammate Rayan Ait-Nouri, and so could make a double swoop.
Pedro Neto next club: Should Arsenal sign the Wolves star?
There is no doubt that Neto is a top player, but his injury problems mean he would be a risky purchase from Arsenal. He has missed 123 games through injury since the 2017/18 season, including 20 already this campaign.
However, when he is on the pitch, Neto often produces magic. The Portuguese boasts three goals and 11 assists in 23 appearances over all competitions so far this season, and with those numbers he would only add to Arsenal's attack.
As a left-footed right-winger, Neto would provide healthy competition for Bukayo Saka, who very rarely gets rested by Arteta when he is fit. Given his injury problems, Neto cannot be relied on to play regular games, so he would be an excellent rotation option and squad player.
Neto is already playing in the Premier League, so would not need to adapt, and in terms of his potential new teammates, Arsenal's Brazilian boys and Fabio Vieira all speak Portuguese which would help his chemistry. At 24 years old, his ceiling is still high, and he could reach his full potential at the Emirates Stadium.
