French football fans must be extremely excited right about now, as two of the hottest prospects in the world game are in their ranks.
Ousmane Dembélé and Kylian Mbappé are both on the verge of the sort of elite superstardom most can only dream of, having both enjoyed exceptional breakthrough seasons in 2016/17.
Dembélé joined Borussia Dortmund last summer after impressing in Ligue 1 for Rennes and immediately thrived in the Bundesliga, scoring six goals and assisting 13 in 32 league appearances.
Mbappé, meanwhile, stunned European crowds during his debut campaign as a first-team player for Monaco. In 29 league outings he was involved 26 goals, and his Champions League performances attracted the attention of the continent’s most prestigious clubs.
He emerged as a Real Madrid transfer target, though Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and about every other top European club are keeping tabs on the 18-year-old.
