Under 2.5 Goals

We're predicting that Saturday's game will be tight and tense throughout with little in the way of goalmouth action. Under 2.5 goals have been produced in each of the last four meetings between Newcastle and Chelsea in the Premier League. Three of Newcastle's and three of Chelsea's last six outings in all competitions have also witnessed fewer than three goals scored.

BTTS – No

Both teams have scored in just two of the last six encounters between these two clubs and we can't see both sides finding the back of the net on Saturday either. Just two of Chelsea's last six matches have witnessed both teams scoring and during that period Chelsea have kept three clean sheets, something we can see them doing once again this weekend.

0-1 to Chelsea

As far as a final scoreline is concerned, we're backing Chelsea to pinch a 1-0 win with an understrength side. The visitors would probably be in with a chance of a comfortable victory had they not had so many injuries to key players, so instead we're expecting a more workman-like performance from Tuchel's side.

Can Newcastle end their winless start to the season?

Newcastle failed to get their first win on the board when they made the trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace last weekend. Benteke put the home side in front but Wilson managed to score an equaliser for Newcastle 25-minutes from time to secure Newcastle a share of the spoils. With 9-games played, Newcastle only have 4pts on the board and are still to secure their first league win of the campaign. Steve Bruce is no longer at the helm and it will be interesting to see if anyone else can do any better with this particular squad of players.

Chelsea crushed Norwich at Stamford Bridge last time out, netting 7-goals without reply. Mount put the home side in front and set the tone of the afternoon in the 8th-minute and goals from Hudson-Odoi and James made it 3-0 at the interval. Chilwell found the back of the net once again and an own goal from Aarons made it 5-0 in the 62nd-minute. The last two goals arrived late on and saw Mount complete his nat trick in what was a man of the match performance from the England international.
