PSG 4-0 Marseille – 24th September 2023

The most recent Marseille vs PSG H2H came in September 2023 at the Parc des Princes. Marseille came into the match without a manager after Marcelino shocked the club by resigning a week prior and their lack of organisation was evident. PSG ran them ragged despite Kylian Mbappe being forced off before half time with an ankle injury. The goals came from Hakimi, Muani and a double from summer signing, Goncalo Ramos.

Marseille 0-3 PSG  – 26th February 2023

PSG thumped Marseille in their own back yard in February 2023 in a huge Ligue 1 match. Just five points separated the two teams at the top of Ligue 1 heading into the match so the victory for PSG gave them a significant cushion in the title race. Lionel Messi scored his 700th goal in club football during the match while Kylian Mbappe netted a brace to earn PSG a valuable three points.

Marseille 2-1 PSG  – 8th February 2023

Marseille's last victory over PSG came in the Coupe de France in February 2023. The title race was heating up between the two clubs which made this cup tie extra special and it was the home side who came out on top. Alexis Sanchez put Marseille 1-0 up early on from the penalty spot before Sergio Ramos levelled things up before the break. After half-time, Marseille got the all-important third goal via Ruslan Malinovsky to progress to the quarter-finals.

PSG 1-0 Marseille  – 16th October 2022

One of the more dull Le Classique's in recent years took place in October 2022 when PSG beat Marseille by a solitary goal. Neymar, a player with a rich history in matches against Marseille, was the match-winner on the day, scoring at the stroke of half time for the home side. Marseille tried to mount a comeback in the second half but their hopes were completely dashed when Samuel Gigot was second off with 20 minutes to go.

PSG 2-1 Marseille  – 17th April 2022

PSG defeated Marseille 2-1 in April 2022 to effectively win the Ligue 1 title. The 2021/22 season was a big one for the home side as they had surprisingly come 2nd to Lille a year prior so they were determined to win their title back at the first time of asking. Goals from Kylian Mbappe and Neymar secured the three points in a result that moved PSG 15 points clear of Marseille in 2nd place with just six games of the season to go.

Potential MVP – Randal Kolo Muani

With Kylian Mbappe set to leave PSG in the summer, PSG need to start preparing for life without their talisman and the answer to the conundrum could already be at the club. Randal Kolo Muani has done okay since signing for the club in the summer and is their second-highest scorer this season behind Mbappe. He is averaging 0.45 goals per 90 this season and he will be seen as a big threat by Marseille.

Key trend

Unfortunately for hosts, the Marseille vs PSG last five H2Hs tell us that this is a fixture that the away side usually win. The rivalry has been very one-sided for a number of years now and with Marseille enduring one of their worst domestic seasons in living memory, it would be a shock to see that trend stop here. PSG to win is priced at 1/1 (2.0).
