Authenticity (4/5): Reliable journalist makes big Camavinga claim
Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga is on Manchester City‘s transfer shortlist ahead of the summer, as City look to strengthen Pep Guardiola's midfield options. It is understood that the Premier League outfit have a strong relationship with the midfielder's agency, CAA Stellar.
The story comes from Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who is one of the best in the business.
Value (2.5/5): Tricky pursuit
Los Blancos rarely sell their promising talents and at this point, Camavinga is yet to make a final decision on his future. As such, Real's possible asking price remains unclear. The 22-year-old is valued at around £67million by Transfermarkt.
Suitability (4/5): All-action midfielder
The Frenchman is primarily a defensive midfielder, who is excellent at covering ground and intercepting the play. At the same time, he also has passing range and ball-carrying ability to slice open the opposition. An incredible asset for any midfield.
Upgrade? (4/5): Guardiola needs more backing
Guardiola has failed to get the best out of Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes on a regular basis and Ilkay Gundogan isn't getting any younger. As such, the Spaniard appears to be demanding another midfielder to freshen up his midfield to challenge for major trophies yet again.
Logic (2.5/5): Final decision remains unknown
Even though Camavinga is yet to nail down a guaranteed place in Carlo Ancelotti's midfield, he hasn't indicated any clear decision to depart Santiago Bernabeu. As such, City might need to do a lot of convincing to secure his signature.
Whisper+ verdict: 17/25
Camavinga certainly has what it takes to improve City's midfield but the English outfit might find it tough to strike a deal with Real.
