Leicester City fans are unlikely to forget 2017 in a hurry. A year which began with the sacking of title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri brought a Champions League quarter-final, a relegation battle and two further managers.
Perhaps that's why the Foxes hierarchy chose the infamously bland Claude Puel to succeed Craig Shakespeare after a shaky start to the new season?
Except the former Southampton boss has been anything but boring and won his first four Premier League matches – the ideal start and a run which immediately saw the club's ambition move away from merely survival.
The Frenchman must build on that and attempt to lift the 2016 Premier League champions into the upper echelons of the league. Keep hold of key men Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez and, as they've shown before, anything is possible.
And in order to get a handle on what Leicester fans are thinking ahead of the transfer window opening on January 1, we got the opinion of Foxes fan and freelance journalist Daniel Orme.
Which areas do Leicester need to strengthen in January and why?
I think bringing in some competition in most areas will be hugely beneficial for Leicester. Danny Simpson is the only recognised right-back in the squad and whilst Daniel Amartey can deputise there, another right-sided defender to provide competition for Simpson is crucial.
Another striker in the Vardy mould could also potentially be very useful. Islam Slimani and Kelechi Iheanacho have been unconvincing so far, whilst Ahmed Musa looks likely to leave in the winter.
Another wide man to support Mahrez, Demarai Gray and Marc Albrighton could arrive too.
Name three realistic transfer targets you would like Leicester to sign in January and who should they replace in your starting XI?
In relation to wingers, FC Porto’s Yacine Brahimi could be a realistic option. He could look at replacing Albrighton in the team, bringing considerable creativity.
Álvaro Odriozola from Real Sociedad could also be a fantastic addition. Puel has pushed his full-backs on since arrival and the Spaniard is brilliant at that so could claim Simpson’s position.
Mathieu Debuchy has found game time at Arsenal limited and again could be an excellent addition at right-back. His experience of the Premier League could see him replace Simpson.
