Kylian Mbappe has reportedly made up his mind to leave PSG on a free transfer after watching the French outfit put a €180 million bid from Real Madrid on hold. According to Sky Sports, Mbappe has become frustrated with PSG failing to respond to the third offer from Real Madrid, who are very keen on signing the French international who has just 10 months left on his contract.
Mbappe signed for PSG deal worth around €145 million back in 2018. After Real Madrid’s initial offer of around €135 million was knocked off, the Spanish Giants subsequently upped their bid for the star asset in such a way that PSG would still end up making a decent profit on the deal. Apart from the danger of losing Mbappe on a free transfer, PSG also have enough attacking players following the signing of Lionel Messi on a free transfer. Such conditions were believed to be favourable for Mbappe’s big-money transfer to Spain, but PSG’s reluctance to show interest in any kind of a deal appears to have pushed the 22-year-old into exasperation. As a result, he is now ready to walk away from PSG by signing a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid in January.
Florentino Perez has made it a key priority to sign Mbappe and build a team around the French superstar. His arrival is keenly anticipated at Santiago Bernabeu considering that Karim Benzema is edging towards the end of his best days. Despite the heavy transfer interest surrounding Mbappe, the 22-year-old has been part of recent PSG games. He even scored twice in the 2-0 win over PSG.
It is possible that Real Madrid may increase the offer to around €200 million and this will be quite hard to turn down for PSG going into the last few hours of the transfer window.
