Christian Eriksen has been going through a nightmare spell at Inter Milan, who are looking to end this problem by making the offer of a swap deal with Arsenal. Interestingly, the Daily Mail reports that the swap deal offer from Inter Milan will involve midfielder Lucas Torreira going the other way. Torreira is currently with Atletico Madrid on a loan deal, but the Spanish club to have the option to buy. However, the lack of gametime for the midfielder at the Wanda Metropolitano has led to concerns amongst Arsenal, whose technical director recently voiced concerns regarding the same.

Inter Milan have been unable to ship Eriksen away from the squad. He is clearly not part of Antonio Conte’s title challengers. The former Tottenham midfielder has been a major disappointment since making a switch from Spurs for £25 million.

Apart from the complexity involved in the transfer of two players, Eriksen moving to the Emirates Stadium will also divide opinion. The midfielder achieved a lot of success with Spurs before moving to Italian football. He was also part of the Spurs set up that had successes against Arsenal. Even though players from rival clubs like Chelsea – Petr Cech – have gone on to play for Arsenal in recent years, it is a whole different story to see a former Spurs star feature for Arsenal.

Inter Milan are not the only club showing interest in Torreira, who has so far featured in just 13 matches for Atletico. Still, it is a lot better than Eriksen, who has made just nine league appearances so far. During his time at Spurs, Eriksen was one of the stellar names on the team sheet and he was a crucial source of key passes for the team. As an experienced Premier League player, Eriksen could get going straight away.
